Greve In Chianti, To

I will have the honor of being at the Chianti release events, Vin Italy, etc. this year.   I look forward to opening bottles from the 2009 harvest, year after year, and reflecting not only on my precious days in the vineyard, but my first year of living "Outside the Box" (i.e. not working but being a forty-something student, finally getting a chance to be just that - a student - of wine - and life). 


I heard work in the vineyards was brutal. If we needed body armor, had to low-crawl between the vines, or were getting attacked by neighboring wineries? I might agree. In all fairness, we only got one week, and yes, it is hard.  But I found it peaceful as well (most of the time), meditative, and a welcome break from sitting at a desk under fluorescent lights.
