Event Description
Four Diamond Lon's at The Hermosa will host a six-course wine dinner with Master Sommelier Laura DePasquale at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 17.
Lon's multi-course dining experience will be paired with Italian wines, all which have earned the Tre Bicchieri award from Gambero Rosso, a national food and wine magazine.
The evening will start with a reception of hand-passed Iranian caviar and buckwheat blini featuring a Cavit Altemasi Graal Brut.
The first course includes tempura purple artichoke heart, bacalao in puff pastry with lemon aioli and a Ferrari Pearle sparkling wine. The second-course will offer roasted langoustine and herb risotto with bouillabaisse buerre paired with Anselmi Capitel Croce.
Heirloom tomato and buffalo mozzarella cheese salad with carpaccio and aged balsamic gelato featuring a Poliziano "Asinone" comprises the third course. Fourth course features house-made whole wheat papardelle pasta with duck two ways, oven-roasted royal trumpet mushrooms and fresh plum duck sauce paired with a Travaglini Reserva Gattinara.
Braised Kobe beef short ribs with seared horseradish gnocchi, confit of baby onions and bone marrow cracker is the fifth course paired with Feudi di San Gregorio Serpico. The final course is a scrumptious dessert of gorgonzola 'dolce' soufflé with marcona almonds and tupelo honey paired with Bertani, Amarone.
Cost for the dinner is $150 per guest which includes gratuity and tax. Seating is limited and reservations are required by calling 602-955-7878.
Laura DePasquale is the 13th woman to achieve the title of master sommelier since the examinations were first set in 1969. As vice president of fine wine development at Palm Bay International, one of the country's leading importers of wines and spirits, she oversees sales of all fine wine brands and plays an integral role in the development of new initiatives.
DePasquale is a popular and engaging wine educator conducting seminars and tastings at numerous high-profile events such as the Boston Wine Expo, South Beach Food and Wine Festival, New York Food & Wine, Aspen Food & Wine Classic and Sante Restaurant Symposium.
