That Ah-Ha Moment: When I was but a young wench, I smelled a Chardonnay at my first job and exclaimed “Pineapple! This wine smells like pineapple!” It’s been a sleigh ride to hell ever since. Grin.

The International Women’s Wine Competition will be held in Napa on November 1 & 2nd. This year a new award will be given for the Best Woman Winemaker in addition to other traditional wine category awards. The competition’s panel of judges is all women giving a different perspective on wine that appeals to women.     Congrats but you forgot to mention the bathtub full of Syrah…

  2. Actually, it was a bathtub full of Syrah and other Rhone wines.
    I had just tasted about 20 Syrahs, other Rhone reds and Rhone blends for my blog, http://www.wine-wench.com, and each bottle was mostly full. I could have given them to the neighbors, but thought that a red Rhone bath would be deliciously decadent. So I did it – dumped the bottles in my bathtub and topped it off with hot water. I marinated for about an hour and came out relaxed and very happy. It did wonders for my skin, too. John just wishes he was there! Heehee!
